Most lookups happen in the largest places, so here is what their maps run on.

How to search the most common viewers in Michigan

county web map (47 entries, e.g. Alger County, Baraga County, Barry County)

1. Open the county's own web map.
2. Search for the property or pan and zoom to it.
3. Click the lot to bring up what the county publishes about it.
4. Look for print or measure tools if you need a quick map or rough size.

ArcGIS Web AppBuilder (15 entries, e.g. Allegan County, Antrim County, Branch County)

1. Click the official map link on the county's page and wait for the Web AppBuilder viewer to load. Some counties show a terms screen first.
2. Search by street address, owner or parcel ID if the search box offers those options.
3. Click a lot on the map to read its attributes.
4. Turn on aerial imagery from the basemap tool and use the layer list to add things like zoning or flood zones when they're published.

Beacon (Schneider Geospatial) (9 entries, e.g. Alcona County, Berrien County, Cass County)

1. Open the link to the Beacon site from Schneider Geospatial. If a terms or disclaimer window appears, agree to it to continue.
2. Use the search bar to look up a street address, an owner's name or a parcel ID. Beacon sites usually also have a dedicated property search page.
3. Click a lot on the map and then open its report for assessment and property details.
4. Use the layer and basemap controls to add aerial photos or other layers the county publishes.

Before you rely on what you find

Online parcel lines are drawn for tax mapping, not surveys, so they can sit a few feet off the real boundary. For anything legal, such as a fence, a sale or a dispute, use the recorded deed and a licensed surveyor.
