About this site
We connect you to the official map — we don’t host the data.
Platbookmapper helps people who want information about a piece of property find the right local GIS, parcel viewer, or assessor site. You search a county here; we send you to the view that actually holds the parcels, aerials, and attributes.
Think of us as a connector, not a data warehouse. We do not host tax-parcel geometry, embed live FeatureServers, or redraw lot lines on our map. The property data lives with the county (or city) that maintains it — we just help you get there.
What you see on our map
- A satellite basemap for orientation.
- County outlines only (U.S. Census cartographic boundaries) so you can pick a place.
- A panel with the county name and an outbound Open local GIS button — that click leaves Platbookmapper for the official viewer.
How we choose GIS links
Listed counties point at public parcel viewers or GIS portals we’ve confirmed — human websites, not raw query APIs. Where a stable official URL isn’t confirmed yet, we mark the row for verify and point you toward a sensible search or state hub. County sites move; always trust the agency page you land on.
Not for survey or legal use
Our county outlines are navigation aids, not tax parcels. Even official GIS screens are usually inventory layers — not a substitute for recorded plats, deeds, or a licensed survey. Use those for fences, setbacks, and closings.
Advertising
Ads stay in the header chrome, off the map, so sponsorship never looks like we sell or redraw parcel data. Amazon Associates links (when shown) are related field tools only.
