Nova Scotia PID Lookup Map: Free Parcel Lines

Find a Nova Scotia eight-digit PID for free on the province's NSPRD parcel map instead of the paid Property Online, plus Halifax's ExploreHRM.

Searching for a Nova Scotia PID lookup map? The searchable Property Online service needs a paid subscription, but the province also publishes its parcel map as a free map service. Here's how to use it.

How Nova Scotia land is identified

The free NSPRD parcel map

  1. Open the NSPRD parcel map. It's the province's own map service, opened in ArcGIS Map Viewer.
  2. It opens on downtown Halifax with parcel lines and PIDs drawn. Pan anywhere in the province.
  3. Zoom in to read the PIDs, then click a parcel for its details.

Halifax

Halifax Regional Municipality has its own free map, ExploreHRM, which adds city layers on top of property lines.

When you need Property Online

Owner names, registered documents and title history come from Property Online. Use the free map to get the PID first, and your paid search will be quicker.

Links are kept current on our Nova Scotia land maps page.

Accuracy: a map is not a survey

Online parcel maps are drawn for registry, tax and planning use. Lines can be off by a few metres, sometimes more. For a fence, a setback, a building permit or a sale, check the registered plan and hire a Canadian land surveyor licensed in that province or territory.
