How Canadian parcel maps differ from U.S. county maps
In the U.S., parcel maps are usually run by counties. In Canada, land registration is a provincial or territorial job, so most maps here cover a whole province. Parcel numbers differ by province: a PID in British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, a LINC in Alberta, a PIN in Ontario and a lot number in Quebec. Ontario has no free province-wide parcel map, so we link to city maps there.
Federal Canada Lands, including many lands in the territories, national parks and First Nation reserves, are surveyed under the Canada Lands Survey System. Natural Resources Canada's free CLSS Map Browser shows them.
A note on accuracy
Online parcel maps are drawn for registry, tax and planning use and are not a survey. For fences, setbacks or a sale, check the registered plan or hire a Canadian land surveyor (an Ontario Land Surveyor, BC Land Surveyor and so on).
