Quebec Cadastre Map: Free Infolot Lot Number Lookup

Find a Quebec lot number on the free Infolot cadastre map: how to get past the licence page, what the free version shows, and what it leaves out.

In Quebec, private land is shown on the Cadastre du Québec, a public register that gives every property its own lot number. Lot numbers start at 1,000,000. The province's Infolot service has a free version that puts any lot on a map.

Cadastre and land register

Get the lot number from the map first, then use it in the land register.

Using Infolot for free

  1. Open Infolot (free version). The site is in French.
  2. Tick the free-licence box and choose your device. Quebec requires this step, so there's no link straight to the map.
  3. Find a lot by lot number, address or postal code.
  4. The free map shows the lot's shape and position. Lot measurements and the original owner's name are only in the paid version.

Accuracy: a map is not a survey

Online parcel maps are drawn for registry, tax and planning use. Lines can be off by a few metres, sometimes more. For a fence, a setback, a building permit or a sale, check the registered plan and hire a Canadian land surveyor licensed in that province or territory.
