New England metes-and-bounds and recorded plans dominate—not western section grids. Unorganized Territory parcels can follow different publication paths than incorporated towns. Bring a tax bill so map-and-lot numbers match the local scheme. Island and peninsula lots deserve extra care with shoreland setbacks shown on planning layers.
Online lot lines are approximate. Confirm with recorded plans or a licensed Maine surveyor.
Unorganized Territory researchers should expect different publication paths than town assessor maps—follow the official outbound link and read whatever jurisdiction label the page shows. Island lots especially need shoreland notes read in tandem with the tax parcel. Directory only on our side.

Why do some Maine counties say Verify via map?
We only mark a county Listed when we have a curated direct interactive viewer URL. Verify counties still open from the national map with the best available outbound link — always confirm it is the official local source.
Does Platbookmapper draw property lot lines?
