About the official source

Shasta County runs this viewer (directly or through a contracted vendor), which makes it the closest thing to the source for local parcel lines. When we tested the link in October 2026 it opened with no login and no fee.

Searching for a parcel, step by step

  1. Press the button above. The map opens in Esri's ArcGIS Map Viewer in a new tab.
  2. Type an address or place name into the search box at the top, or drag and zoom the map yourself.
  3. Click inside a parcel outline. A pop-up lists whatever attributes the publisher shares, such as a parcel ID or acreage.
  4. Open the Layers panel to hide or show parcels, and use the Basemap button to switch to aerial imagery.

Many parcel sites expect owner names last name first. If a full name finds nothing, try just the surname.

A note on accuracy

Online parcel lines are drawn for tax and planning use. They can be off by several feet, so use a recorded plat or a licensed surveyor for fences, setbacks or a sale.
