Condo Plat vs Subdivision Plat
A subdivision plat divides land into lots. A condo plat divides a building or a tract into units and common elements.
Platbookmapper is an Amazon Associate. If you buy through an Amazon link on this page, we earn a commission. The link is a product, not the county map.
The condo drawings show unit boundaries, which may be the unfinished interior surface of the walls, not the outside of the building. The land under the building may be common element, not a lot you own in fee.
On the recorded sheet
You get a unit number, not a lot and block, unless the project is a site condo that also shows unit envelopes on the land.
The mix-up to avoid
The county parcel layer may show one parcel for the whole condo, or a parcel per unit. The declaration and the condo plat say which estate you bought.
Find the county map
Search the county on the Platbookmapper home page. The directory links to the official parcel viewer. It does not draw the lots, and the line on the screen is an assessment map, not a survey.
Not a survey. County GIS and tax parcel maps are assessment and planning layers. They are not a substitute for a recorded plat, deed, or licensed survey.
