How to Find Your Block Number
The block number groups the lots and is required when lot numbers repeat in each block.
Platbookmapper is an Amazon Associate. If you buy through an Amazon link on this page, we earn a commission. The link is a product, not the county map.
The deed states it next to the lot. The plat labels the block in the street, or in the middle of the group of lots.
On the recorded sheet
Some newer plats do not use blocks at all and number lots continuously. In that case the deed will not cite a block, and you should not invent one.
The mix-up to avoid
A city block in a mailing address is not the plat block.
Find the county map
Open Platbookmapper and pick the county that taxes the land. Use that viewer to get the parcel ID, then match it to the recorded plat if you need the easements and lot numbers.
Not a survey. County GIS and tax parcel maps are assessment and planning layers. They are not a substitute for a recorded plat, deed, or licensed survey.
