Land ownership map
A U.S. land ownership map is almost always a county parcel layer plus assessor attributes — the starting point for property owner lookup — not a single national owner map.
Platbookmapper is an Amazon Associate. If you buy through an Amazon link on this page, we earn a commission. The link is a product, not the county map.
Data sources
- GIS — where the parcel is
- Assessor — taxable owner of record
- Recorder — deeds / chain of title
Lookup recipe
- Open the county in Platbookmapper.
- Identify the parcel.
- If owner isn’t shown, take the parcel ID to the assessor.
- For legal ownership, read the deed.
Public land & LLCs
Federal/state land uses separate layers. Private parcels often show LLCs or trusts — GIS may not list beneficial owners.
Not a survey. Web parcel maps are tax and planning layers. They are not a substitute for a recorded plat, deed, or licensed survey — especially for fences, setbacks, or disputes.
