Property Lines Map Free

A free property lines map is the county parcel viewer. The lines are the assessor's tax parcels, and they are not a survey.

A property lines map free to the public is almost always the county GIS parcel viewer. People also search for it as a property line map, a free property line map, or a map with property lines. The words differ. The map is the same: the assessor's parcel layer, drawn so the county can tax and identify lots.

Open the free map

  1. Start at the Platbookmapper home page and search the county.
  2. Open the official viewer. You should see the county's name, not a lead form asking for your email before the map draws.
  3. Search the site address or parcel number.
  4. Turn on the parcel or lot layer if the map opens on aerial photography alone. County sites label that layer in different ways: parcels, lots, tax map, or cadastral.

How to read the line

The line is a polygon the county maintains for assessment. It shows which parcel is which. It does not show iron pins, and it is not precise enough for a fence, a pool, or a setback argument. Aerial photos underneath the line are older or newer than the drawing. A shed that crosses the line on the photo is a reason to ask questions, not proof of an encroachment.

Free copies versus the county original

"Maps with property lines" sold as a download are often a redraw of this public layer. If the price is the only difference, use the county map. Platbookmapper links out to those official viewers county by county. It does not host the lot lines, and it does not replace a licensed survey when you need the boundary marked.
