What Is a Boundary Adjustment
A boundary adjustment moves a line between two owners so each ends up with a revised tract, without creating an extra lot.
Platbookmapper is an Amazon Associate. If you buy through an Amazon link on this page, we earn a commission. The link is a product, not the county map.
Both owners convey and both receive. The recordings have to be paired. Many jurisdictions require a plat of survey even though no new lot is born.
On the recorded sheet
Tax parcel IDs are updated to the new shapes. The old line on a PDF you saved is obsolete after the adjustment is recorded.
The mix-up to avoid
A boundary adjustment is not a way to cut off a piece and sell it to a third person. That is a split.
Find the county map
Open Platbookmapper and pick the county that taxes the land. Use that viewer to get the parcel ID, then match it to the recorded plat if you need the easements and lot numbers.
Not a survey. County GIS and tax parcel maps are assessment and planning layers. They are not a substitute for a recorded plat, deed, or licensed survey.
