What Is a Chamfered Corner on a Lot
A chamfer is the angled corner of a lot where the plat replaced a sharp intersection corner with a short diagonal line.

It is the lot-line version of a corner clip. The two street frontages no longer meet at a point. They meet the diagonal.
On the recorded sheet
Setbacks are measured from the remaining lot lines, including that short side. It is easy to miss on a small sketch.
The mix-up to avoid
The chamfer is part of the geometry, not a suggestion to round the curb.
Find the county map
Start at Platbookmapper, search the county, and open the local GIS link. Write down the parcel number before you compare the screen to a paper plat.
Not a survey. County GIS and tax parcel maps are assessment and planning layers. They are not a substitute for a recorded plat, deed, or licensed survey.
