What Is a Double Frontage Lot
A double-frontage lot has street frontage on two opposite sides, sometimes called a through lot.
Platbookmapper is an Amazon Associate. If you buy through an Amazon link on this page, we earn a commission. The link is a product, not the county map.
Planners use it along major roads so houses can face the quiet street and back onto the arterial, with a buffer in between.
On the recorded sheet
The plat may prohibit driveways onto the major road. That note is an access limit, not a suggestion.
The mix-up to avoid
Two frontages can mean two front setbacks. The larger yard might still be a front yard under the code.
Find the county map
Search the county on the Platbookmapper home page. The directory links to the official parcel viewer. It does not draw the lots, and the line on the screen is an assessment map, not a survey.
Not a survey. County GIS and tax parcel maps are assessment and planning layers. They are not a substitute for a recorded plat, deed, or licensed survey.
