What Is a Pipeline Easement on a Land Map
A pipeline easement is a corridor where a company may operate a line and restrict deep digging and structures.
Platbookmapper is an Amazon Associate. If you buy through an Amazon link on this page, we earn a commission. The link is a product, not the county map.
Plats and separate grants both show them. The width and the line's identity, gas or liquids, belong in the recorded description, not in a guess from an aerial photo.
On the recorded sheet
Markers in the field are warnings. The legal strip can be wider than the mowed path.
The mix-up to avoid
The parcel viewer might show a centerline layer. Confirm it against the easement document before you design a building.
Find the county map
Open Platbookmapper and pick the county that taxes the land. Use that viewer to get the parcel ID, then match it to the recorded plat if you need the easements and lot numbers.
Not a survey. County GIS and tax parcel maps are assessment and planning layers. They are not a substitute for a recorded plat, deed, or licensed survey.
