What Is a Reconfiguration Plat

A reconfiguration plat redraws several lots in a block into a new pattern, a kind of replat focused on rearranging rather than adding a street.

Platbookmapper is an Amazon Associate. If you buy through an Amazon link on this page, we earn a commission. The link is a product, not the county map.

It cites the prior lots and shows the new numbers or the same numbers with new bearings. The point is a clean sheet that replaces the old geometry.

On the recorded sheet

Review comments may require easements to be carried forward onto the new sheet. If they are dropped in error, say so before recording.

The mix-up to avoid

After recording, quote the reconfiguration, not the original book and page, in the next deed.

Find the county map

Start at Platbookmapper, search the county, and open the local GIS link. Write down the parcel number before you compare the screen to a paper plat.
