What Is a Through Lot

A through lot, or double-frontage lot, touches a street on two opposite sides.

Platbookmapper is an Amazon Associate. If you buy through an Amazon link on this page, we earn a commission. The link is a product, not the county map.

The plat shows right of way on both ends. One side may be a busy road with a landscape buffer and limited access.

On the recorded sheet

Owners sometimes want a rear fence on the back street. The code may treat that side as a second front yard.

The mix-up to avoid

Having two street edges does not mean two front doors are legal. Access can be restricted on the plat.

Find the county map

Open Platbookmapper and pick the county that taxes the land. Use that viewer to get the parcel ID, then match it to the recorded plat if you need the easements and lot numbers.
