What Is a Turnaround Easement
A turnaround easement gives a neighbor or the public a place to turn a vehicle at the end of a narrow drive or a dead-end.
Platbookmapper is an Amazon Associate. If you buy through an Amazon link on this page, we earn a commission. The link is a product, not the county map.
The plat draws a bulb or a T and says who may use it. It can sit on the last lot. That owner still holds the fee, subject to the turning right.
On the recorded sheet
Parking a trailer there permanently can violate the easement even if it is on your grass.
The mix-up to avoid
A turnaround is not a second lot, and it is not a public street unless it was dedicated as right of way.
Find the county map
Open Platbookmapper and pick the county that taxes the land. Use that viewer to get the parcel ID, then match it to the recorded plat if you need the easements and lot numbers.
Not a survey. County GIS and tax parcel maps are assessment and planning layers. They are not a substitute for a recorded plat, deed, or licensed survey.
