What Is an Acreage Tract
An acreage tract is land described by area and a boundary, not by a lot number in a dense subdivision.
Platbookmapper is an Amazon Associate. If you buy through an Amazon link on this page, we earn a commission. The link is a product, not the county map.
It may be a quarter-quarter section or a metes-and-bounds farm. A later plat can turn it into lots. Until then there is no lot number to quote.
On the recorded sheet
The parcel viewer shows it as a large polygon. The deed has the calls. Acreage on the tax bill is the assessor's figure and can differ from the deed.
The mix-up to avoid
Calling it a lot in an ad does not plat it.
Find the county map
Open Platbookmapper and pick the county that taxes the land. Use that viewer to get the parcel ID, then match it to the recorded plat if you need the easements and lot numbers.
Not a survey. County GIS and tax parcel maps are assessment and planning layers. They are not a substitute for a recorded plat, deed, or licensed survey.
