What Is an Interior Lot

An interior lot sits in the middle of a block, with neighbors on both sides and one street in front.

It is the ordinary subdivision lot: one front line, two side lines, and a rear line. Easements, if any, are usually along the rear or a side.

On the recorded sheet

The block number and lot number identify it. The plat shows whether the side lines are parallel.

The mix-up to avoid

Interior does not mean landlocked. It means the lot is not on the corner of the block.

Find the county map

Search the county on the Platbookmapper home page. The directory links to the official parcel viewer. It does not draw the lots, and the line on the screen is an assessment map, not a survey.
