California County Map
A California county map shows 58 counties. Parcel and lot-line maps are published by each county assessor, not by the state outline.

A California county map shows 58 counties. A few of them are enormous. San Bernardino County is larger than many states. Los Angeles County is a single county full of cities. The outline tells you which assessor keeps the parcel. It does not draw the lot.
California parcel numbers are assessor parcel numbers, often called APNs. The county assessor or county GIS viewer is where that number is mapped. City boundaries, zip codes, and lot lines are three different layers.
Open a California parcel map
- Go to the Platbookmapper home page and search the county.
- Or open the California county directory.
- Follow the official GIS link.
- Search the site address or the APN. A site address is the physical address of the parcel, which may not match the mailing address.
Platbookmapper links out to those county parcel and lot-line viewers. Use the county map to pick the right assessor. Use the county viewer to see the parcel. Use a surveyor when the corners have to be marked.
Not a survey. County GIS and tax parcel maps are assessment and planning layers. They are not a substitute for a recorded plat, deed, or licensed survey.
