Collier County, Florida GIS Parcel Map Guide
The Collier County Property Appraiser’s map is the free parcel viewer for Naples, Marco Island, Golden Gate Estates, Immokalee, Ave Maria, Everglades City and the edge of the Big Cypress.

Collier County runs from Gulf beaches to cypress swamp, with one of Florida’s largest platted subdivisions in between. The Collier Property Appraiser map lets you move between all three in a few clicks.
Tools on the Collier appraiser map
The Property Appraiser’s office runs its own map site rather than a generic template. Its toolbar handles the basics, from identifying and measuring to printing, stepping back to the last view or jumping out to the whole county, and side tabs hold the overview map, layer list and legend. Two drop-downs stand out. An Aerial Year selector switches between recent imagery years, and a Sales Year selector shades parcels that sold in a chosen year, going back roughly a decade.
That pairing is useful: pick an older aerial year to see what a lot looked like before clearing or construction, then flip on a sales year to see which neighbors changed hands. We link the map from Collier in our Florida directory, and the county is on our U.S. county map.
Folio numbers and searches
Collier parcels are identified by a folio number, printed on the TRIM notice and tax bill. The search tool accepts folio, owner and address. Condominium units are separate folios stacked on one building footprint, so search by unit rather than clicking the map. If an address will not match, search the street name alone and pick from the results.
How to find property lines in Collier County
The steps differ between platted subdivisions near the coast and the big Estates lots inland.
- Read the legal description with its plat book and page, or the Golden Gate Estates unit, tract and number.
- Pull the plat and deed from the Collier County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, who keeps Official Records.
- Measure on the map with the measure tool, then look for corner markers in the field; in Estates lots they may sit in thick palmetto.
- Use a Florida licensed surveyor and mapper for any fence, pool, seawall or dispute.
Golden Gate Estates and the inland grid
Golden Gate Estates was laid out decades ago as a vast grid of large lots, many sold long before roads or drainage reached them. Today some areas are fully built and others remain wooded or wet. The map shows the grid clearly, but it cannot tell you whether a lot has road access, can get a well and septic permit, or sits in a wetland. Ask the county’s growth management staff before buying an unimproved Estates lot.
Seawalls, canals and flood zones
Naples and Marco Island have many canal lots with seawalls, and nearly all coastal land sits in a special flood hazard area. Storm surge from recent hurricanes reached well inland in places, so check both the flood zone and the elevation certificate if one exists. Our explainer on flood zones on county maps covers the basics.
Immokalee, Ave Maria and the eastern county
East of the urban area, Immokalee is a farming center for tomatoes and citrus, and Ave Maria is a newer planned town. Much of the far east is conservation land, including Big Cypress National Preserve, Fakahatchee Strand and the Florida Panther refuge, where private building is limited or impossible.
Collier County plat book
We could not find a current printed atlas. Recorded plats in the Official Records are the source, and the appraiser map adds imagery and sales history at no cost.
Rural acreage and hunting access
Large ranch and farm tracts around Immokalee and along State Road 29 show acreage and owner when clicked, which helps when you want to ask about access. Public hunting in the preserve and state wildlife areas runs under Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and federal rules, with quota permits in some places.
Condo buyers and new inspection rules
Naples and Marco Island have many older high-rise condominiums. After the 2021 Surfside collapse, Florida began requiring structural milestone inspections for many condo buildings three stories or taller, along with reserve studies that can raise monthly fees or lead to special assessments. The parcel map will not show any of that, so ask the association for recent inspection reports and budgets before you sign a contract.
Is the Collier County GIS map accurate?
Coastal subdivisions line up closely with imagery. Inland Estates lots and older rural tracts can drift, and water lines move. The map supports assessment, not boundary decisions. See our note on appraiser maps and surveys.
Appraiser map slow?
Turning on several aerial years or sales layers at once can slow drawing. Switch off what you do not need, clear the cache and reload. North along the Gulf, our Lee County guide covers Fort Myers and Cape Coral, and the Florida parcel map hub lists every county.
Frequently asked questions
What is a folio number in Collier County?
It is the Property Appraiser’s parcel identifier, shown on the TRIM notice and tax bill. The map search accepts it.
Can I see old aerial photos of a Collier County lot?
Yes. The appraiser map has an Aerial Year selector that switches between recent imagery years.
Can I build on any Golden Gate Estates lot?
Not necessarily. Access, wetlands, well and septic rules vary, so check with the county before buying an unimproved lot.
Is there a free Collier County plat book?
We found no current printed one. The Property Appraiser’s map is free, and plats are in the Clerk’s Official Records.

Not a survey. County GIS and tax parcel maps are assessment and planning layers. They are not a substitute for a recorded plat, deed, or licensed survey — especially for fences, setbacks, or boundary disputes.
