Lot Lines for Property: Find Boundaries on County GIS
If you need lot lines for property research — buying land, checking a neighbor’s tract, or pulling a parcel ID for deeds — start with the local county GIS / parcel map, not a general consumer basemap.
Platbookmapper is an Amazon Associate. If you buy through an Amazon link on this page, we earn a commission. The link is a product, not the county map.
A simple workflow
- Confirm the county (and city, if the land is inside city limits).
- Open the official parcel viewer from Platbookmapper.
- Search by address, owner, or parcel / tax ID.
- Turn on the parcel or lot-line layer if it isn’t visible by default.
- Note the parcel ID, then verify with recorded plats and a surveyor when accuracy matters.
Why counties differ
Every county names and hosts its tool differently. Some use Beacon; others ship an ArcGIS Experience; others use AxisGIS or a custom OneView app. That patchwork is exactly why a curated directory saves time.
Plat maps and lot lines
Recorded plats show surveyed lots in a subdivision. GIS lot lines for property are the day-to-day digital layer used for assessments and public lookup. Use both: GIS to find the parcel, plats and surveys when dimensions must be exact.
