Maricopa Parcel Search: The Assessor’s Parcel Viewer, APNs and Tax Lookup
A Maricopa parcel search covers more than 1.8 million parcels and accounts, from central Phoenix to the edges of the Valley. The Maricopa County Assessor runs both the Parcel Viewer map and a text search, and the Treasurer handles the tax side. This guide is about entering the right thing in the right box.

Maricopa APN formats that work
Maricopa parcel numbers (APNs) follow a book, map, parcel and split pattern. The Assessor’s search help says you can type an APN in any of these forms:
- With dashes: 111-11-111-A
- Digits only: 11111111
- Digits with the split letter: 11111111a
If an APN returns nothing, the parcel may have been split or combined since the number was issued. The Assessor offers a parcel history report for that situation; email asr.pa@maricopa.gov. Our note on why parcel numbers change explains the general pattern.
Maricopa parcel search by owner, address and more
The same help page covers the other search types:
- Owner name: type the full name, and do not abbreviate the first name.
- Address: use a standard format such as 123 E Main St.
- Subdivision name.
- MCR number, a Maricopa County Recorder reference.
- City or ZIP code.
- Section, township and range. All three are required.
Using the Maricopa Parcel Viewer
The Assessor’s Parcel Viewer (version 3.5 when we checked) walks you through a search: choose Parcels, pick “Parcel Number (APN)” or another search type, then enter the value. The viewer’s own example accepts both 13275013 and 132-75-013. A search returns at most 1,000 results, so narrow a broad owner or subdivision search. The toolbar includes Layers, Bookmark and Draw.
The viewer says to clear your browser cache if the search box or parcel details do not appear. For questions, the Assessor’s phone number shown in the viewer is (602) 506-3406.
Maricopa County tax lookup by parcel
Property taxes are collected by the Maricopa County Treasurer. Its search takes a parcel or account number, a name, a mailing or situs address, or a VIN. When we checked, the Treasurer’s site listed November 2 at 5:00 p.m. as the deadline for the first half and noted that tax bills had been delayed, so check the site for current dates before you rely on a mailed bill.
Maricopa County Assessor office
The Assessor’s office is at 301 W Jefferson Street in Phoenix and is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For the county’s wider geography and land-use background, see our Maricopa County GIS parcel map guide.
If the Maricopa parcel viewer is down
Clear the cache first, as the viewer suggests. If the map still fails, the Assessor’s main site search takes the same APN, owner and address inputs without loading a map. The Treasurer’s search is a separate system and often works when the Assessor’s tools are busy. Maricopa County in our Arizona directory links the official viewer.
More Arizona parcel viewers
Platbookmapper keeps a free, county-by-county directory of official parcel viewers and county GIS maps across the United States. The Arizona county GIS page lists every county. If you research land in more than one county, start at the all-states directory or pick a county on the national parcel map, and you will land on the official viewer instead of a data-broker copy.

Not a survey. County GIS and tax parcel maps are assessment and planning layers. They are not a substitute for a recorded plat, deed, or licensed survey — especially for fences, setbacks, or boundary disputes.
