County GIS parcel maps: find property information online
In the U.S., county GIS parcel maps are the default place to find property information online. States rarely replace that county role — they may host optional statewide viewers, but day-to-day lot questions still land locally.

Why counties run the maps
Assessment, taxation, and land records are county (or equivalent) functions in most states. GIS teams maintain the parcel fabric those offices share with the public.
Property information online
Expect map geometry plus a subset of assessment fields. Deeper sketches, sales, or document images may live on a separate assessor site — sometimes free, sometimes subscription.
Using a nationwide directory
Platbookmapper charts counties and outbound GIS links so you can move from a USA map click to the local viewer. Listings are curated over time; verify you are still on an official domain.
Local flavor
Energy counties highlight well pads; coastal counties stress flood layers; metro counties emphasize vacant commercial pads. Same GIS idea, different industry overlays.
Not a survey. Web parcel maps are tax and planning layers. They are not a substitute for a recorded plat, deed, or licensed survey — especially for fences, setbacks, or disputes.
