GIS property search: find parcels, lots and property information
A GIS property search connects a map click to parcels, lots, and property information the county is willing to show the public. Depth varies: some viewers are map-only; others embed assessment cards.
Platbookmapper is an Amazon Associate. If you buy through an Amazon link on this page, we earn a commission. The link is a product, not the county map.
Search modes
Address, parcel/tax ID, owner name, subdivision, and sometimes sales. Industrial users often search by map click near rail or highway corridors when they do not have a clean situs yet.
Property information you may see
Acreage, land use code, assessed value year, building year built, and links out to documents. Privacy rules hide owner names in some states. Never assume the pop-up is complete title insurance.
Lots vs tax parcels
Subdivision lots and tax parcels are related but not always 1:1 after combinations or condo regimes. The GIS ID is your key into the rest of the county stack.
From map to records
After you identify the parcel, continue in assessor, treasurer, or recorder tools. Platbookmapper gets you to the GIS front door; deeds still live with the register.
Not a survey. Web parcel maps are tax and planning layers. They are not a substitute for a recorded plat, deed, or licensed survey — especially for fences, setbacks, or disputes.
