Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Parcel & Cadastral Maps
Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes runs from the volcanoes of the Massif Central to Mont Blanc, with Lyon as its capital. Every commune's cadastral plan is online, so you can trace a chalet plot in Savoie or a farm in the Cantal the same way.

How it works in France
France's cadastre is run by the tax administration (DGFiP) and covers every commune, including the overseas regions. Each plot is identified by its commune, a section of one or two letters and a parcel number. The plan is free to view on cadastre.gouv.fr and as the Parcellaire Express layer on cartes.gouv.fr, the IGN map site that replaced Géoportail. Ownership is not shown on these maps: title is recorded by the Service de la publicité foncière, or in the Livre foncier in Alsace and Moselle.
A note on accuracy
Online parcel and cadastral maps are for reference only. They are not a survey or a title search. Before you buy land or settle a boundary question, order the official title record from the land registry named on this page and get a licensed surveyor or notary to check it.
